Working with AI. Designing for AI.

How I use AI in my work — and how I think about designing AI experiences.

01 / IN MY PROCESS

How I use AI in my work

AI can accelerate execution faster than it accelerates understanding. I use it to move through the work faster without skipping the thinking that makes my work better.

01   Clarify thinking →

Turn messy input into something I can evaluate.

02   Challenge assumptions →

Pressure-test ideas and uncover edge cases.

03   Shape early concepts →

Explore and iterate more quickly.

04   Reduce repetitive work →

Work across large sets of content more efficiently.

05   Frame the story →

Communicate decisions for the right audience.

  • Dump raw notes, transcripts, or chaotic brainstorming sessions straight into the context.

  • I use it to structure and synthesize the content back clearly, so I can evaluate and refine my thinking.

02 / DESIGNING AI EXPERIENCES

How I think about designing AI experiences

The interface is only one part of the experience. When AI can interpret, recommend, act, and adapt, I think beyond the screen to the behavior of the system: what it should decide, when it should stop, and how people stay meaningfully in control.

Autonomy

Oversight

What should the system decide, and when should control move back to the user?

Trust

Verification

What evidence, visibility, and recovery does someone need to judge the result?

Helpfulness

Interruption

When has an interruption actually earned the user’s attention?

Personalization / Pretend intimacy

Can the system use context without pretending to feel or understand more than it does?

Continuation / Closure

When does continued help stop being helpful?

CENTRAL IDEA

The human is still the point of the experience.
